Container Storage:
For the households with large and bulky items over 2.4m long, removals can be organised to transport your goods and load into our onsite 10’ or 20’ shipping containers.
On return, a removalist or yourselves will unload the container and move out of storage. SmartWay container storage is a more traditional form of storage.

How to prepare your goods for storage at Smartway Storage
Preparation is necessary to ensure your goods leave storage in the condition that they were on entry to storage. Furniture is not meant to be moved on a regular basis.
Smartway Storage Advises:
- TV’s must be in a dedicated TV box
- Matresses and couches are wrapped in protective covers.
- Items are boxed with extra paper if storing glassware and dinnerplates
- Lamps, decorative items and paintings are wrapped in bubble wrap and boxed
- Tables both timber and glass are bubble wrappped and extra padding on the tops.
- Washing machines and fridges are emptied and wiped dry at least 48 hours prior to storage. Make sure to empty all the water from your washing wachine. Leave fridge door open by taping a cork or similar to inside of door and then taping door closed.
- Fridges and dryers and washing machines should have padding around them.
- Chests of drawers – wrap an elastic band around to keep the drawers closed.
On pick up, the SmartWay removal team will add blankets to better protect your whitegoods, tables and chairs as extra prevention against denting and scratching.

FAQs
Do I need a council permit for the module?
Not with our service. Because our modules stay on the back of our truck while you load them, they are treated as a standard delivery vehicle rather than a stationary skip or container.
Is my furniture safe from the humidity?
Our modules are made from breathable, high-grade timber. This allows for natural airflow, which is far better than steel shipping containers and storage sheds for preventing mold and protecting furniture in Gold Coast climate.
Are you bound to be locked into contracts?
No. Storage is based on a month to month basis.
Do you supply blankets
Yes. While you are in storage, blankets are supplied free of charge. They must be returned at the end of your storage period.
Can I use my own removalist?
The short answer is yes. If you are moving into modules it would be a better option to use our professional removalists as there is no double handling. If moving into the shipping containers we are happy to provide the removal or you can choose a removalist of choice.
